Kymberly Wescott
Lead Paralegal
After 11 years as a housewife and
my youngest going on two years of age, I decided it was time to
expand my horizons and get an education. Knowing my annalistic
personality so well, I thought something in the legal field would be
most productive. Especially since law has always been of interest to
me. But with four children at home, seven years of college certainly
wasn’t a goal I was quite ready to take on nor was able to see the
light at the end of that tunnel. So, I went into paralegal studies
and received my degree.
During my first two years working as a paralegal, I had the
opportunity to dabble in real estate law, contract law, business
law, family law, and bankruptcy law. However, I found myself drawn
to the family law cases, as family is so very important to me.
Unfortunately, after my first year as a paralegal, my marriage of
over 13 years ended and I found myself filing and preparing my own
divorce. Having experienced the emotional rollercoaster of divorce
as well as witnessing the hardship divorce has on everyone involved,
especially the children; I then decided family law is where I wanted
to stay. I later found myself here at Brooks Law, P.C. where I am
finally able to apply myself completely into family law issues,
helping others during a time when they need comfort knowing their
legal needs will be met and showing them true compassion during a
very emotional time in their lives.
